“Make space for God’s love so He may change you.” Pope Francis
“The same stream of life that runs through my veins night and day runs through the world and dances in rhythmic measures.” Rabindranath Tagore
We pray with the Church and the World
That people may learn to respect creation and care for it as a gift of God.
That persecuted Christians may feel the consoling presence of the Risen Lord and the solidarity of all the Church.
“Peace not the absence of conflicts or the result of political compromise or fatalistic resignation.” It entails “a daily endeavour, a courageous and authentic effort to favour reconciliation, to promote experiences of sharing to extend bridges of dialogue, to serve the weakest and the excluded.” In a word it consists in “building up a culture of encounter.”
April 22 International Mother Earth Day
“I appeal to all people everywhere to raise their voices. Speak out on behalf of this planet, our only home. Let us care for Mother Earth so she can continue to care for us as she has done for millennia.” UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon
“I would like to ask all those who have positions of responsibility in economic, political and social life, and all men and women of goodwill: let us be ‘protectors’ of creation, protectors of God’s plan inscribed in nature, protectors of one another and of the environment.” Pope Francis
We pray with the Institute
That we may encounter the Risen Lord on our journey together at the Extended Leadership Meeting in Australia and that we may return with our hearts set ablaze with love.
That we may be blessed with vocations…”that perhaps this course of ours would continue till the end of the world, because it came to that in which we first began.” Mary Ward
Join us in this vigil
and you will know what it is to dream!
Then you will know how marvellous it is
to live threatened with Resurrection!
To dream awake
to keep watch asleep,
to live while dying,
and to know ourselves already resurrected!
Together we pray
“We ask the risen Jesus, who turns death into life, to change hatred into love, vengeance into forgiveness, war into peace. Yes, Christ is our peace, and through him to implore peace for all the world.”
Where do you long for peace in your own life? In the world?
“Human trafficking is an open wound on the body of contemporary society, a scourge upon the body of Christ. It is a crime against humanity.” How can I be balm to the open wounds I encounter?
“Religious follow the Lord in a special way, in a prophetic way. It is this witness that I expect of you. Religious should be men and women able to wake the world up.” What is my contribution to wake the world up?
“…this task entrusted to us by God the Creator requires us to grasp the rhythm and logic of creation. But we are often driven by pride of domination, of possessions, manipulation, of exploitation; we do not “care” for it, we do not respect it, we do not consider it as a free gift that we must care for.” How can I truly grasp the rhythm and logic of creation?
