On 30 January, with the celebration of her death anniversary, the week dedicated to Mary Ward came to a close.

For the sisters of the Congregatio Jesu and the IBVM (Loreto) in Rome it was a matter of great joy that Fr. Arturo Sosa, the General Superior of the Jesuits, together with two of his confreres of the Curia – General Assistants ad providentiam – Father Fratern Masawe SJ and Father John Dardis SJ, came to our house to celebrate with us. “You are my friends” (John 15:15) – with this moving sentence from the Gospel of St. John, Father Sosa opened his homily.  ‘The words “You are my friends” represents a revolutionary way of understanding the relationship between human beings and God. …  May the Holy Spirit continue to inspire us and make us friends’.  This was the core statement of his homily that evening. After the Eucharist we had dinner together. It was a joyful evening for all of us, which we will never forget.
