bestow true wisdom
enabling us to discern things
as they truly are”

We pray with the Church and the world
Pope Benedict’s message for the New Year: The
Human Person: Heart of Peace - “Peace is in danger when human dignity is not
respected and when social coexistence does not seek the common good. Every
offence to the human person is a threat to peace and every threat to peace is
an offence against the truth of the human person and against God.”
(1 January: Extract from
Pope Benedict’s peace message)
We pray with Pope John XXIII: “May all the
Christian Churches reunited in prayer find unity in what is essential, freedom
in the unimportant things and love in everything they do.”
(18 – 25: Week of prayer for
Christian Unity)
For the World Social Forum. May we continue
the process of seeking and building alternatives in order to create a better
society for
all “because
another world is possible”.
(20 – 25 January: Nairobi, Kenya)
We
pray with the Institute
We rejoice with the Indian Province and give
thanks for the First Professions of Adeline Toppo, Jhuma Purkait,
Loyola Lakra, A. M. Sharmila, V. Punitha and A. Thivya. May they continue
cherishing God’s vocation in them.
(23rd January in Kolkata)
Mary, as women of faith we look to you: for
the courage to say yes to God in our daily lives; for the willingness to be
“apt instruments” in God’s service and for the humility to participate fully in
life according to God’s plan.
(1st January: Feast of the
Institute)
During the International Polar Year we pray
for all those who will study the effects of global warming on the Polar
Regions, that they may help us to become more aware of the seriousness of this
threat to our planet and to be active in righting it.

One
Small Voice
As Mary Ward
companions:
May we be open to
God’s generosity:
embracing through us
every person
and particle of this
wondrous creation
that is our common
heritage,
responsibility and
glory.
May we dream of
creating
“a new heaven and a
new earth”
which is not
determined
by our age, our health
or our degrees,
but by our hearts and
the
burning desire to act
for God,
and to make God’s love
and healing presence
visible in a hurting
world.
May we believe that we
are called by Jesus
to new places and
ministries
that respond to the
new needs of today
as Mary Ward was called to do in her time.
