We pray with the Church and
the world
For
us as we live our vocation to consecrated life. Let us pray for openness and
generosity in this call to discipleship and especially for those who have
recently entered formation programs.
(February 4th: World Day of Prayer for Consecrated Life)
For
all those whom we know who are sick, those who are alone in hospitals and homes
and for children suffering from incurable diseases.
(February 11th: Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes and World Day of the Sick)
We continue
to pray for peace in our world. O God! O our Master! You are eternal life and
everlasting peace by your essence and attributes. The everlasting peace is from
You and it returns to You. O our Sustainer! Grant us the life of true peace and
usher us into the abode of peace. O Glorious and Bounteous One! You are blessed
and sublime.
(A Muslim Prayer For Peace)
We
pray with the Institute
We pray for the ongoing discernment for a new Provincial in
Canada. May God grant wisdom and insight to the General Council and a heart
free to serve to the one called. (early February)
For the General Council as they engage in a week of facilitated
sharing for the ministry of the eight years ahead. (February
17-24)
For those in Provinces who will carry forward the outcomes of the
World Social Forum held last month in Nairobi.
For the members of the USA Province as they continue the
discernment for members to go to Mexico in response to the Courage to Move
call.
For
all of us as we continue to reflect on the calls to action from GC’06.
One
Small Voice
As Lent
begins on February 21st let us
pray for balance and exchange.
Dear God
We pray for balance and exchange.
Balance us like trees. As the roots of a tree shall equal its branches
so must the inner life be equal to the outer life. And as the leaves shall
nourish the roots so shall the roots give nourishment to the leaves. Without equality and exchange of nourishment
there can be no growth and no love. Amen.
