We pray with the Church and the world
That all people learn
to hear and contemplate the Word of God more fully, to love it in their hearts
and live it in their lives.
(Intention
for April of Pope Benedict XVI)
For all in our world
who suffer poor health through a lack of the basic needs for water, sanitation
and nutritious food. On this day around the globe, thousands of events mark the
importance of health for productive and happy lives.
(April
7th: World Health Day)
For all of us as we
with the concerns of climate change and ecological disasters. With the theme of
‘Cultural Landscapes and Monuments of Nature’ we pray with thanks for the
beauty of our world.
(April
18th: International Day of Monuments and Sites)
For all people who
use the Internet: that the use of digital outreach might be the means for many
who search for the purposes of God within their life.
(April 29th: Internet Evangelism Day)
We
pray with the Institute
For Evanne Hunter, the new Provincial of Canada. May she be
blessed with the fullness of God’s love and the wisdom of the Spirit and may
the province of Canada be ready in their response to the needs of this time.
For all members of the Institute: May we realize our personal
responsibility to encourage others to join us in our mission to the people of
our time. We pray too for all Christians who seek an understanding of God’s
call in their life.
(April 29th:
World Day of Prayer for Vocations)
For Patricia Leadbetter from the Australian Province who will make
Final Profession on Easter Monday. May she be blessed with God’s presence and
love on this day and into the years ahead.
(April 9th:
Ballarat, Australia)
One
Small Voice
In this day’s frantic
pull,
we set aside a pearl
of time
to speak a holy
prayer.
We pray for our
hands:
hands that grip faith
so tightly,
it cannot breathe
truth,
cannot smile
understanding,
and cannot listen to
another faith’s
blessing.
It is a prayer of
hope,
that we may open our
hands;
reach out, touch,
feel the wounds and
pain
our clenched fists
have caused.
Then, in sorrow and
care,
we may take hold of
other hands,
and look forward
together,
linked in the peace
of one creation.
