We pray with the Church and the world

We pray for all those who teach at any level and in any place. May they realize the significance and the privilege of their vocation and enthusiastically care for and encourage the best in each student.

(5 October: International Teachers’ Day)

‘All the Churches for all the world’ is the theme for World Mission Day. It invites the local Churches of every Continent to a shared awareness of the urgent need to relaunch missionary action in the face of the many serious challenges of our time.

(21 October: World Mission Day)

We pray for an increased awareness of the world food problem and a desire to strengthen solidarity against hunger, malnutrition and poverty.

(16 October: World Food Day)

In our fragile and hurting world we pray for all those whose lives are affected by war, the threat of war and acts of terrorism. Join any effort in your local region to highlight the danger of the arms race and the urgent tasks of disarmament.

(24-30 October: Disarmament Week)

We pray with the Institute

We pray for our sisters throughout the Institute who work with and beside those affected by tragic events. Let us especially pray for our sisters in Peru after the earthquake in August, our sisters in Spain after more bombings there, our two Junior Professed in Hyderabad, India following the bombings in August and those in England affected by summer floods.

We pray for sisters who are ill or who face surgery and significant follow-up therapy at this time. Let us also pray for those who care for them both in the medical field and in our communities.

Maria Lopez is beginning her orientation into the Italian language around this time so we support her as she makes this move to begin as General Secretary in the new year.

Let us support in prayer all who are in our Courage to Move places – Albania, Bangladesh, East Timor, Ecuador, Ghana, Southern Sudan, Seychelles and Zambia.
