Spirit of God
fill us with the
energy of your love
We pray with the Church and the world
For all who are persecuted because of
their faith and work for justice. May we
find ways to support them spiritually and
practically in their struggle.
For all who work in the area of communications.
May they creatively and
wisely use the potential at their disposal
for promoting peace and for building
bridges between people of different
faiths and cultures.
(17th May: World Communications Day)
We join with those who are working to
carry out the first Millenium Goal of the
U.N “to eradicate extreme poverty and
hunger, reducing by half the proportion
of people living on less than a dollar a
day and reducing by half the proportion
of people who suffer from hunger”.
We pray with the Institute
We thank God for Teresa Ball and her courage
and energy in sending sisters to spread
the Good News. Let us pray, accompany and
support our sisters in the new foundations.
(19th May: Anniversary of Teresa Ball and
Mary Wright’s letter “Courage to move”.)
For the participants in the Conference of the
World Council of Churches on the theme: “
Come, Holy Spirit, heal and reconcile”. May
they, open to the Spirit, become ambassadors<
of reconciliation.
(8th – 15th May, Athens)
Spirit of God, you are the stirring in our
hearts. You urge us to get going. You encourage
us not to give up. Make us receptive
so that we will follow your loving movement
within our lives. We trust in your powerful
presence within us. Amen.
(15th May: Feast of Pentecost)
One Small Voice
Our Lady of the Way, be with us on our
journey.
The years come and go and we age, help
us to find that creativ e balance between
being active and being quiet.
Teach us to be thankful for all the gifts
we have, reminding us that they are not
ours to keep but on loan to make this
world a better place.
Remind us that God’s love is always
available for us and that God’s grace allows
us to look back over our lives to affirm
“it was better than I thought”.
Help us to keep on praying for loved
ones and for God’s children everywhere.
