We pray with the Church and the World
From the words of Pope Francis:
I want to say one word to you and this word is joy.
Wherever consecrated people are, there is always joy!
Cardinal Braz de Aviz, Prefect of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life, named the objectives for the Year of Consecrated Life:
to make a grateful remembrance of the recent past,
to embrace the future with hope
to live in the present with passion.
November 10th is the UN World Science Day for Peace and Development. Remember with gratitude those who give their time and talent to create a safer and more peaceful and equitable world.
November 16th is the UN International Day for Tolerance. The Declaration affirms that toler-ance is neither indulgence nor indifference. It is respect and appreciation of the rich variety of our world’s cultures, our forms of expression and ways of being human.
We pray with the Institute
On 15th November we pray for Patricia Ndgunge Mbama and Jakline Mwikali Mwongela in the Eastern Africa province as they make their First Profession. May God richly bless them in this commitment.
Let us continue to pray for our new leaders as they prepare to leave their ministries and all that this involves: Noelle as Province leader in Ireland; Igora as Principal of Loreto Sealdah in Kolkata; Judy as Principal in Loreto Nyakato, Tanzania; Macarena in the social projects/outreach work with the Muslim women in Asilah Morocco and Brenda as Chaplain Director of Medical School Ministry, Loyola University Chicago.
As the season of Advent begins at the end of the month we pray for the spiritual journey we will all embark upon once more. Together we affirm that Christ has come, that He is present in the world today, and that He will come again. Let us pray that we will
One Small Voice
(for All Soul’s Day)
What is dying?
The ship sailed away and I stand watching till it fades on the horizon,
and someone at my side sys: The ship is gone.
Gone where? Gone from my sight, that is all;
the ship is just as large as it was when I saw it.
As I see the ship grow smaller and go out of sight it is just at that moment that there are others in a different place who say: ‘Watch; here the ship comes and other voices take up
a glad shout: You have arrived! – and that is what dying is about.
Together we pray
Your light will come, O Jerusalem.
The Lord will dawn on you in radiant beauty.
We shall see the glory of the Lord,
the splendour of our God.
The sign of the cross shall appear in the heavens,
when our Lord shall come to judge the world.
