Celebrating Who We are and Who We are Becoming with the symbol of the Phoenix rising from the ashes was the apt theme of these five very special days where over 120 sisters from the communities in India and South Asia gathered in Loreto Kolkata led by Sabrina Edwards ibvm the Province Leader and the Province Leadership Team, A. Anitha, Beatrice Stuart, Priyanka Topno, and Anjuman Gidh. These days of Becoming One were particularly special with the presence of the five CJ Province leaders and Sr Pratima Pinto CJ, Sr Anna Quinterio CJ from the General Leadership Team in Rome with General Superior Sr Veronica Fuhrmann CJ and IBVM Institute Leader, Carmel Swords ibvm, together with our other leaders from Rome, Kate Myers, ibvm, Natalie Houlihan ibvm and Geraldine Moktan ibvm. The days were facilitated by Ruma Biswas and Rachel McLoughlin ibvm. They were truly graced days of prayer, deep listening, vulnerability, sharing, creativity and celebration. It was an extraordinary time of experiencing the Spirit of oneness take hold and the Phoenix most certainly did rise as the sisters imbued with Mary Ward’s virtues were together most certainly more than the sum of their parts.
