IBVM Zambia

July 29, 2022

The presence of the IBVM in Zambia started in March 2006, when two sisters from South Africa, Elizabeth Donnan & Pat Hanvey, began a new foundation in the Diocese of Mongu, Western Province, Zambia.

They established their house on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River, in Lukulu, the capital of the country. From there, they work in grassroots development, primary Health Care Support Programmes, community schools, education and catechesis.

In May 2016, Lenah Mambo, Ibvm from the Eastern Africa Province joined them. And, since 2015, tertians from the CJ Zimbabwean Region undertake apostolic experience in Lukulu as part of their Tertianship.
