O God of the Universe ...
To print the July HOP, click on the link, In English, In French, In Spanish, We pray with the Church and the world General Intention of Pope Benedict XVI : that in every nation of the world the election of officials may be carried out with justice, transparency and honesty, respecting the free decisions of citizens. Intention of the Holy Father for Missionaries : that Christians may strive to offer everywhere, but especially in great urban centres, an effective contribution to the promotion of education, justice, solidarity and peace. On July 5th it is International Day of Cooperatives . This year the theme is Cooperative enterprise empowers women. It s aim is in line with our Action 3c in Call 3: Challenge the misuse of power , especially as it affects women in the church and world . Let us pray for all who work to realize this noble theme. The United Nations is remembering World Population Day on July 11th. The day seeks to focus attention on the urgency and importance of population issues, and the need to find solutions for these issues. We pray for our sisters who minister in countries where the effects of over-population are devastating. We pray with the Institute Anne Kelly will be settling in to her new role at the United Nations in these weeks. We pray for her in this important connection between each province and region and the various NGOs of the UN. In your Calls booklet from GC 06 you will read on page10 'we take responsibility for regular reflection and review of our fidelity to these Calls and Actions' . Pray about your personal responsibility and share your reflection with others. We pray for the members making the first part of their Tertianship in their own country or else where at this time: Blanca Bergareche from Spain, Yvonne Gomes, Igora Pinto and Goretti Tirkey from India and Denise Sullivan from Mauritius. May they be blest in this school of the heart. One Small Voice Blessed are you, O God of the Universe, Yours are the earth and its fullness, Open my eyes to see how truly gifted I am. Help me to appreciate how muchyou have entrusted into my safekeeping. Give me a grateful heart for your many blessings. Inspire me to care for, enrich and share generously the gifts you allow me to enjoy. May I always respond to your call as a faithful disciple, serving you and building your kingdom in all I say and do. Amen. |
